LENTIn a world that constantly tells us that “more is better” and urges us to “supersize” everything we eat and drink, Lent can become for us a refreshing period of saying “NO” to the world, the flesh, and the devil and “YES” to Jesus.
Together, as we journey through Lent, we’ll take a look at the life each of us is living and ask—are there things here that we need to die to? Are there habits, thoughts, and patterns of living in our lives that aren’t consistent with the life God intended us to live? Then, at the same time, we’ll focus on accepting the life and grace that God extends to us—celebrating the cross and resurrection as God’s definitive act of love in the world. During Lent we remind ourselves of the reality of death, but we know that in the end there is resurrection. And in that resurrection we find a love that is stronger than death. |
