CONNECT VIA:

[Matthew 3:1]
In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near." This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: "A voice of one calling in the wilderness, 'Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.'"

:: Preparation

 Are you ready? In our day to day business, have we forgotten who God is? He who is unsearchable, who "sits above the vault of the earth," and cannot be compared - are you prepared for His coming? Have you examined your heart, and sought out your "rough ground?" Have you grieved over your sin the way God does? Are there places you have kept hidden from God - sins you have been unwilling to admit and confront? These are the areas, the strongholds, that will prevent us from truly drawing near to Him.

Let today be the day you spend time coming clean with God, unburdening yourself of the baggage you've held onto too long. When we refuse to confess our sins, we are allowing pride to dictate who masters us. When we don't invite God into our whole life, even the areas we're ashamed of, we are not living God-centered. We are not living for Him.

As we begin this season of Lent, prepare yourself for His coming. Purify your heart, body, and spirit. Repent. Be prepared. Live in expectation of His Kingdom.

:: Prayer
Father in Heaven, the light of your truth bestows sight to the darkness of sinful eyes. May this season of repentance bring us the blessing of Your forgiveness and the gift of Your light. Grant this through Christ our Lord.

Amen.
